The facilitators are the backbone of Startup Weekend, ensuring the event runs smoothly, stays on schedule, and maintains high energy. They guide participants through the 54-hour experience, setting the tone, reinforcing the process, and keeping teams focused. More than just timekeepers, facilitators create a supportive environment where ideas flourish, collaboration thrives, and challenges turn into opportunities. Their experience, neutrality, and enthusiasm help participants navigate uncertainty, maximize learning, and get the most out of the weekend.
I'm part of the Doso team, based in Taranaki where we run programs and events to support and connect early stage entrepreneurs. As a serial entrepreneur myself I've experienced the exhilarating heights and crashing depths of the startup journey – and I'm addicted. I'm also a shameless advocate for Startup Weekend; I've never experienced a program that so quickly and comprehensively immerses people in opportunities to experience and learn the knowledge, skills and mindset of entrepreneurship. The value provided to participants by the amazing volunteer organisers, facilitators, mentors and judges is incalculable, and I feel privileged to be part of the team for Startup Weekend Tauranga 2025
